Fundamentally, self-care cultivates a sense of health, strength and ease in the physical body and nervous system, an overall sense of wellbeing in the emotional and mental life, and a sense of resting in an expanded awareness of ourselves. Humanity requires safety, meaningful living, friendship, community, connection to each other and Nature, as well as opportunities to learn and grow. Taking time to slow down and re-connect with a more natural pace and rhythm is an act of self-care. It allows us to recognise areas where we are strongly impacted by stress or other burdens, as well as opening ourselves up to new possibilities for growth and expansion. Then, we can look towards taking care of all that we find. This day of retreat includes slow meditative movements from the Tai Chi and Qigong traditions, Yoga Nidra and restorative meditations. All of the practices we will explore seek to nourish our Being at deep levels, by re-setting the nervous system, easing stress, opening gentle opportunities to learn and transform, and by cultivating a felt sense of safety, contentment, connection, peace and health. This is a gentle day, suitable for most people. However, please see the safety statement below. Delicious lunch, snacks, teas & coffee provided. Note: Please inform me of any food allergies or sensitivities. There will be options for gluten-free and dairy-free food. If in doubt, please bring your own preferred lunch.
