T'ai Chi and Qigong are ancient Chinese systems of movement using gentle, relaxing body movements for the promotion of health and wellbeing. The training combines physical movement, meditation practice and energy work to promote personal growth, balance and strength on all levels. It has been called moving meditation and shadow boxing due to the hidden strength and martial applications which form an integral part of the circular flowing movements. The Course will include learning a short T'ai Chi sequence of continuous flowing movement, together with the energetic and martial applications of each movement. We will also focus on T'ai Chi and Qigong embodiment principles, and learn how to incorporate these experientially into our movements. As with all courses, we take a slow, meditative approach with inner listening to the body and its feedback. We will continue to build on mindful awareness as we practice.
